Post subject:  First sail in light winds 5-8 mph

First sail went pretty well at Rock Cut State Park (Rockford, IL). I was trailer to water in 15 minutes (and I've never put a trailered boat in the water before)! Very light winds coming directly towards shore. I had to paddle out a little ways before I could unfurl the sail. Making the wide turns to tack as suggested here works really well and I didn't get stuck in irons. The Bravo jibes nicely as well. My only mistake was not noticing that the plugs weren't in until 30 minutes in! There was quite a bit of water in there when I pulled her out.

Very satisfied with the Bravo. She's a great little boat.

Thank you Hobie!
