Hi all, Just got my bravo, used, very used. Needs a few small details. I was told to bring a paddle in case, you know, I can’t sail back to shore! Do most people bring a paddle? Where do you store or mount it? Thanks! Great forum! |

Caveat - I'm on a Wave, so different boat - may not be helpful. I bring a paddle - 1 for me only and 2 if I have company on the boat. I bought cheap 2-piece aluminum paddles from Amazon. I bungee them to the tramp lacing. |

Never seen a bravo in person but can you quasi paddle it like a kayak or is it too wide? But yes I would bring a paddle. I even use them on my TI. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks, I am going to bring a paddle. Was hoping to see where other bravo owners mounted the paddle. Not much room in the cockpit to have a paddle floating around. Trying to find a pic I saw with a kayak paddle mounted in front of mast on the hull. |

Paddle bungeed to the tramp lacing is the way to go. I don't bother with the second paddle, especially if I have able bodied crew to stroke for me. Using a foot on the tiller crossbar for steering I can paddle solo on a hobie 18 without too much trouble. Your bravo should be no problem. I have had some success paddling a hobie 21SC, but only far enough to get out of a marina. |

Bravo owner here. I have a a small collapsible paddle that I use to get to and from the dock (no wind in the small bay its in) mounted to the A-frame with two small bungies. I always bring it and it doesn't get in the way. I also have a long two piece kayak paddle that I use when I take the dogs out and I don't use the mast and sail. Sort of an extra wide kayak.  I mount the kayak paddle to the A-frame as well.

I bought a collapsable paddle on amazon - it fits through the hatch! One has to secure it somehow so it doesn't disappear into the innards of the boat. The only downside is that you have to open the hatch on the water to get it - but I assume that you will only need the paddle if there is no wind or your mast broke off. |
