Post subject:  A-frame filled with hot melt glue ?

Hi Hobie
I was checking the upper screw on the a-frame u part the one that goes into the vertical support (8030361 5/16-18 x 1.25 LG)
I had to use a torch to heat it up to get it out, hot melt glue
came dripping out the hole (the u is completely filled with glue)
questions
Is this normal to be filled with glue and
how to install it back in place (it needs more glue)
how did the factory originally install this screw
Thanks

It was polyethylene according to the Bill of Materials. This would have been inserted to help in the tube bending process which keeps the tube from collapsing during bending. I believe it is unnecessary to the function after that.

Thanks Matt
I called SLS today they said it was HDPE filled
lifted the bravo on its nose
melted the missing material in the hole (with extra I had)
re-drilled it out it worked good
Bert
next time not to be so aggressive with the heat
