Post subject:  Kick Off
The kick off fired up today! at a mark we had gusts to 21kts and in the afternoon it was well above 35kts. Big swell, big chop 5 boats hit the water, 2 flipped. Another went over on the sand. Very exciting day! Tomorrow will be lighter.

Lighter? Yeah, wind speed dropped to 25 today. :roll: I was caught in it on the SF Bay and did the pitchpole/capsize/turtle in one move. The wind was strong enough I righted the boat solo in less than a minute (crew was too shell shocked and inexperienced to know what to do). Adrenaline got me through the cold and the beach never felt better.

Scuttlebutt around the beach in Alameda said there were 16 big boat capsizes yesterday on the bay. I am unable to confirm.

On the other hand, the kitesurfers were in their element.

Yea saturday was nuts there. I volunteered for beach crew and my wife went on the comitty boat. Sunday i was too sick to rig my boat so i just went to the inlaws house and slept. Its wednesday now and im just getting a little better. See ya all in 10 days at Blodega.
