| Post subject: | Beach Camping in Maryland |
My kids and I here in Maryland want to grab some camping equipment and supplies and sail out to a beach somewhere and do a little camping. I’ve looked around but have come up empty handed. Does anyone know of such a place? |

What I was planning on doing with a 21 SE (eventually, have to find one...) was go to Assateague Island National Seashore. I've been canoeing there several times but the fact that the campsites can be upwards of 11 miles from the launch site makes it very weather dependent for canoeing. On the other hand, the isolation and distance make it perfect for cat camping. You'll want to look at their bayside back country camping sites. The water depth is shallow but perfect for a catamaran to get in and out. The sites are named Pine Tree, Green Run and Pope Bay. |
