I sold my Hobie 21SE a few years back. While I had it I had probelms with extending the telescoping crossbars and found the composite "bearings" that wrap around the crossbar endsbroken into pieces. After a lot of searching Hobie actually found a dealer that had some and I bought them. They are held to the crossbars with aluminum rivets. Replacing them made a big improvement in how the boat telescoped in and out, along with greasing them regularly. Also stopped the movement in the crossbars while sailing. At any rate, in doing some winter oragnizing I found a box with several of these bearings. They would be hard to duplicate and I doubt Hobie, or anyone else, makes them. LMK if you are interested. BTW, sailing a Corsair tri now and love it. But the Hobie 21SE still has a special place in our hearts. Wife and I loved that boat. |
