Just found someone to sell me motor mount for the 21SE now I am on the lookout for a battery box. One that would go in front of the dolphin striker. We are located in a deep and narrow cove and it is a bit of work to get it out.

I would try one of the new lithium cell batteries they weigh 4 pounds and are very small you could throw it in a cooler when not in use and you are right a hobie 21 does not paddle well against current and or wind very well

Nice!! But I guess for every pound they take off they add $200 to the price. Really good advice but a little over what I can afford..

weight is a real issue a good marine battery is heavy and costly a new lithium battery is a few bucks more but probably worth it
Fyi i use a merc 3 hp bought new in 1988 and still kicking weight of motor and fuel is 29 lbs
