Post subject: | Need H21SC parts advice |
I'm just picking up a Hobie 21SC to take down to Mexico with me and have a few questions re spare rigging. I've bought this boat unseen so haven't been able to assess what it needs so I'll just get a bunch of extra parts to take down with me. I've owned a couple of H21 SE's in the past and am wondering about rigging dimensions for the SC as I want to order some spare shrouds, forestay etc. to have on-hand as we're in a really remote area of Mexico just north of Belize. Questions: I understand that the 21SC uses a Hobie 18 rig. Is it the SX mast? I want to order a set of Trapeze Wires. Murrays sells them for 18 and 21SE but not spec'd for 21 SC? Ideas? The SC doesn't seem to have a halyard lock on the main. Is that correct? What common used rudder's will work on a Hobie 21SC i.e. H18, H20? Is the H18SX main sail the same size as the Hobie 21SC Main? I was going to order a bunch of rigging from Murrays. Any other places that may have some good prices? Thanks in advance. David |

Take a look at the support page for the Sport Cruiser: http://www.hobiecat.com/support/hobie-21/ Parts Guide: http://static.hobiecat.com/digital_assets/21SCParts.pdf The rig is unique. The 21SE mast section at the H18 length (+/-). Unique length trapeze wires. Unique bridle wires. Standard Hobie 18 shroud and forestay wires. No halyard lock due to the reefable setup. Unique sail. Standard rudders. |
