I am in the process of rebuilding my Hobie 21 SE Jib Roller Furler... I am replacing all the plastic parts as well as the small ball bearings that might have wear... The question for all of you is..... does this area need grease or some kind of lubricant??? Thanks Looking forward to getting back on the water soon. Yes! I use axle grease for my furlers, main car and jib tracks. Not only does it hold the bearings in place during install, but I find it lasts the longest. |

I rebuilt mine after breaking the outer drum. If my memory is correct, I order a rebuilt kit from Hobie and it work fine with a little lube. Good luck....spring is on it's way............ ![]() |

I too used grease on the bearings. I used a marine white lithium. So far, so good. Watched the America's Cup world series in Oman last weekend, making me REALLY want to get back on the water! One more month and the weather should be doable ![]() -Todd |
