I picked up an old Hobie 21SE the other day and found a Little Oscar cooler inside of it....the cooler is too big to fit through the access port so what is going on here? :?

Also the cooler is from:

Alpha Speedweek '86

The Pond, April 17-20

Palm Springs, California

The hulls were repaint so no hull ID #'s the mast ID # is 51172

The boat use to be from Maryland.....deep blue with a copper below the waterline....

Does anyone remember this cat?

If it is just a little too big to fit through, unscrew the hatch frame and you should have enough room to get it out.

These coolers inside of the 21SE were placed there as the boat was built.

I did remove the access port frame and it is still too large to remove...

I also found a small fiberglass tray with Velcro that held the cooler in place too. Over time the tray came loose and is free floating....

Mine has the trays built in, but I've never seen a cooler in one.

The tray I found was loose inside the boat.

I can see were it was fiberglass to the bottom just slightly back from the access port were it pulled off from.

There are two self trays built in between the dagger board well.

My buddy Roger 21 had an older 21SE than mine and his had the same cooler inside too....
