Good day,

I am needing to purchase blocks and shrouds for the 21SE. I have the manual downloaded. How do I translate the part number into a product I can order from Harken or elsewhere. I live in Canada. Suggestions regarding a Canadian distributor would be appreciated.

all the best and happy holidays

Get your shrouds from Salty Dog Marine Inc on Ebay. Also order shroud extenders to right the boat easier....Don will make your new shrouds about 8" shorter to fit the extenders just right. Be sure to place that order together so it all fits perfect.

As for the main blocks ungraded to Murrays Sports Harken 57mm Carbo 10:1 Low-Profile Mainsheet System be sure to ask about the fit to your traveler car pin size. :D

If you need help, PM me anytime.

Canadian dealers - check their websites
In Toronto, Fogh Marine,
In QC, Sextant Marine.
Both are excellent.

I think this guide is pretty accurate, and the only one I know of:

https://foghmarine.com/hobie-21se-line-guide.html

I can also measure mine to validate as she's not quite put up for the winter . :-) Looks like there may be yet one more sail before 2022 in her!

I second Bill's comment - add a Johnson/hyfield lever for extending shrouds and put an extra length in there so you can get your H21 over-center if she goes capsize. I mean, while you're doing it... The correct way to do it is to get the shroud levers from your outlet and make the eye-to-eye length with the levers in-hand. I ended up measuring and subtracting the levers from the total shroud length and it worked out great. Also makes it VERY easy to adjust shroud tension before sailing.

p.s. - I went all-in and got roller-swaged eye, instead of the nicopress on thimbels and am glad I did. Supposed to be stronger (don't know) but looks much nicer and no chance of snags since the wire end is buried under inches of roll-swage. Of course, you pay a little premium for the fittings, but since this is being done once every few years or so, why not do it right? 316 stainless.
