Post subject:  Winter Storage

Hi,

I own a pair of i14Ts and was wondering about winter storage. The garage is not heated and I was wondering if it's best to keep the tandem in the bag or keep them inflated.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Send them to me and I will keep them for you. I live in a mild climate and fish all year long.. I will keep the mojo on them until you need them back. What'ya think?

Ken,

Did you get any suggestions that answered your winter storage question for the i14T's? I have an i14T and would like to know how to store for the winter as well. Right now it is folded and in the Case/Bag in the garage as well, but Michigan can be pretty cold come January.

Our inventory is packed in the bags for long periods, so storing this way should be fine. I have heard of others rolling out the hull on a flat dry surface (deflated) and covering with a towel. Either way I believe. Must be dry though. Trapped water will expand when it freezes and could cause issues.

I wash and dry it out, put a (very) little wd40 on the metal, silicon on the plastic bearing parts, fold it in the stuff sack...but I don't cinch it tight.
I dunno why...just seems cruel to leave it bound up super tight all winter. No issues with the i14 after two winters.
