The drive drops right in until the molded plastic alignment pin hits the lowest section of the molded plastic casing. This is not far enough in for the metal rods to be clamped into place. Not even far enough for the drives to pedal fully. The whole assembly just sits there rocking on the alignment pins...

I can push down all I want but the pieces preventing it are solid plastic. There are not any moving pieces that I can manipulate to get the drive further in. It looks like it would work just fine if I cut off the alignment pins, but that is clearly not intended.

The videos and help I see all show the drive just snapping on into place. I am keeping the drive vertical. Of course I have tried many variants by now.

Does the i14t have a different/shallower drive receptacle? Are there different types of Mirage drives? Any suggestions?

Thanks!

The drive is a little different for the iseries. Cut off the alignment pins. The iseries and older Mirage kayaks do not have the alignment pin slots.

Good to know! I've cut the alignment pins off and the drives drop into place with the proper snap. I have not had a chance to use them in the water yet. I look forward to doing so on the long weekend!
