If having to replace the forward seat D rings which are mounted on 9" circular patches on the left/right air chambers, what part number is ordered? ACK out of Austin said Hobie doesn't make these anymore.... Thanks |

thanks. so hobie is going from a 9" circular total "purchase area" on the left/right hulls for the forward seat anchors and down to a...4" X 2" oval patch purchase hold? im probably missing something. im only 160 lbs but as a cyclist i can generate some power when needed. i usually dont, im not in a race on my kayak, im relaxing/snorkeling. even so, in heavy waves/wind i have to respond. further, many overweight hobie fans generate far more stress on these 2 forward mounting stress points than do i. so why did hobie go from a 9" circular "purchase size" patch on the hull reduced down to a 4 X 2" purchase hold if the patches are failing (one of mine did, im waiting on the other)? thanks much. these patches are lower in cost im happy with that, just unsure of engineering directions. |
