Hi fellow members, Does anyone has experience to bungee the Hobie cart in the two factory holes and use all the way to fishing without taking it out until finish? Thanks in advance! |

You mean...leave the cart plugged in, under the kayak, while you're on the water? How would you use the mirage drive? |

If I leave the cart plug in, can I still use the mirage drive? |

Yes, the Mirage drive will still work with the Hobie cart plugged into the hull UNDER WATER, But the amount of drag it induces, will make you wonder, why does the kayak not move very well in the water. ![]() |

As can be seen in the original 2008 I-12s below, the inflatable cart has always been mounted in the drivewell insert. The scuppers were not plug-ins for a cart and were normally capped from the top. i-14Ts and i-9s had the same arrangement. Launching with a cart in is a mistake that is noticed immediately (no speed) and could be destructive to the cart if it were to hit an underwater obstruction. ![]() ![]() gif image hosting |
