How does the new iTrek duo kayak fare when going out solo? It looks like the rear seat being so far back would unbalance the kayak a bit. Also, will the mirage drives be able to be upgraded to the 180s? I see that the prior model had 180 drives but the new iTrek series only has the GT drives

The i11s had the extra plastic alignment pins cut off to fit the drive into the drive well. At least, that is how mine is. Looks like the drivewell was made for the original drives that didn't have the pins. Take a look at the iTrek drive. Worst case you would have to cut those pins off a new drive to match the well. I've not seen the MD180kickup for sale other than with a boat. Have seen the ole MD180 for sale though.

This from engineering:

It does fine with one person. The rudder is oversized and has lots of authority. Also, the drive well now has groves so any drive with pegs will fit in it.
