I used my I11s for the first time this year and the rudder controls were very difficult to steer. I saw multiple threads on this issue but it seemed this was for 2016 boats and not newer 2019 boat so my questions are: Is there a lubricant that can be used with these cables to protect from elements? Will Corrosion X work? Also, while I have not inspected the issue in detail yet, are these cables replaceable with stainless steel if they are not already that material? Thanks again Mike |

I have a 2016 i11s. I had the same issue with binding. A slight loosening of the rudder screw helps just don't overdo it. I would set it up and lay the whole thing on a elevated surface . The back of a truck bed where you can support the whole weight of the kayak except the end sticking out. Adjust it and the check its function repeatedly until you are happy. If you over loosen it you will notice it spinning up when you are turning. Basically i would plan to adjust it each time you use it until you are happy. it took me about 4-5 trips. |

I inflated my 20 built i11s on a few saw horses. Found there was a bit of slack in the cables. Centered the rudder. Centered the rudder control. Loosened the set screws on the rudder. Pulled out the slack. Tightened them back down. Only issue I've had with steering since has been when rudder gets fouled with grass/algae/gunk. |
