Hello, My I12S startet loosing air after 6 years. My Hobie dealer in Germany refused to even look at it and Hobie Europe‘s advise was to buy a new one : they wanted to provide me a extra good offer for a new kayak - for sure this never happened ![]() I asked a local repair specialist for inflatables to have a look at my kayak - no luck. Now I have a broken I12S and few parts which are still perfectly fine : mirage drive, seat, box etc Although I am pretty disappointed with the reactions on my problem I am thinking of getting a Hobie Inflatable again to make use of Mirage drive, seat etc Two questions: Is Hobie selling inflatables without seat / drive ? Would my ‚old‘ mirage drive fit in the newer inflatables? PS : it needs to be an inflatable to be able to transport it in my camper. Many thx Uwe ![]() |

Your drive is compatible with all present and past Hobies. In theory you can buy stripped down hull, but that normally creates problems for your dealer (ask) and it really makes more sense to sell old drive and get the much improved new one as part of package. There is a big demand for used drives by those with rigid hulls. The new iTrek has no paddle so you can use your old one. I like the old bag better but didn't reuse any other old parts. |
