Am I the only person who thinks the iTrek 9 seat is waaaaay too low? I am 6' 2" tall and weigh 230 lbs. There is no way I can stand up once I am sitting. I see on YouTube that some people are replacing the seats with an AquaGlide AG Frame Seat, which sits about twice as high up as the Hobie seat. The problem is that they are sold out everywhere. Does anyone else have an idea about how to raise the seat? I ordered the Bertha version of the Kayak Kushion but it has not arrived yet. It should help some, but I doubt it resolves the issue altogether. |

Before committing to a much higher seat, it might be worthwhile to test out various elevations with cushions. I have a couple seaEagle inflatable seats and found the taller one unuseable on my (really wide) i12s. That boat suddenly went from superstable to very tippy with moderately high cg. I guess that boat had high primary stability but low secondary. I love the stock seat height on my iTrek11 because it lets me lean (roll) hard into a turn without feeling tippy. |

That is a good idea. I will try some extra cushions. The AquaGlide AG Frame Seat is off the table anyway. They are sold out everywhere because the company discontinued them. Thanks. |

That's a common issue with inflatables for taller folks. Instead of just cushions, have you considered a rigid foam block, like from a yoga block or insulation board? You can shape it easily and it won't compress as much as a cushion, giving you a more stable and consistent height increase. Just an idea |
