Just got done taking the AI with me to Catalina on the sailboat. Everything went great it was no problem to carry the boat over or rig it while tied to the dinghy. One concern I had was, with the amas and akas removed the aka support sticks out enough to scratch up the sailboat. Has any of you bright hobie people developed a pad witch can be slipped over these.
Thanks,
Mike

I just hung fenders off the side of my boat.

Loved having the kayak with me, but it flipped in rough weather and had a heck of a time getting it back over. I was ignorant enough to have my pedals in the kayak and lost them. ''

I have Mike using the same insulation material used for the Pirate Pillows. I did this to reduce the risk of injury to me when using the kyak as a diving and swimming platform. I just glued off one end of each of the two I made to fit over the ends of the braces like a glove and a shock cord holds the set of two on. I only need the front set protected but you would need to make up two sets. I will take a picture and post it here if you like. These would protect your boat from any damage...Pirate

I think pool noodles would work pretty good.

Doug - I have been playing around with pool noodles for a while now but I think Pirate's special "gloves" will avoid any scratching from the aka supports better.

Did you get to see these pics MRL? These ends were not specifically designed to buffer the boats but I believe they would do the job admirably...Pirate
