After my first trip on the A.I i wasnt too impressed with it nose diving abilities in surf. I search yak shops for a nose cone and lucky me i found one for 65 bucks. It has no labels or markings on it, it was just sitting on the floor in a dusty state. It wasnt built for a hobie but id backfilled any spaces with expanding foam. It hasnt fallen off yet! http://www.akff.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=35751 |

Does this keep the boat's bow above the water, or is there a danger that once it too is submerged the boat is in trouble? What exactly is this device sold for originally -- surf boats? kayaks? (I've never seen anything like this for a sea kayak)? Thanks! |

They are designed for sea kayaks that need to go through the surf, think its a really good idea after taking my AI into some decent swell and having the nose get stuck under the water. The angle of the nose cone is like a wing that as long as the yak is moving forward it will resurface. |

Is there some other language that people might use in describing this? |
