i'm waiting for my ai to arrive at the end of the month and am wondering whether it will be a 09 or 10.
what's different?

I could be wrong, but here's what I noticed from buying my 2010 AI.

-There is a new drain plug at the centre of the stern of the boat.
-New seat with air adjustable lumbar support
-Pads on the pedals now, so pedalling barefoot is more comfortable (inexpensive upgrade)

At some point they converted the fins from standard fins to turbo fins on the AI, but I believe the 2009 had that upgrade already.

I think that's it.

Mine came with turbo fins.

Page 20 of the 2010 Hobie Kayaking brochure, second bullet point under "Standard Features" says "MirageDrive with Turbo fins"

I picked up a new AI just a week ago and it came standard with the Turbo fins.

I hope your lucky, I ordered a AI in late July, and received it on August 20, 2010, it's appears to be a 2011 model. It came with the same Akas that are found on the AT, Turbo Fins, and the dealer said a different rudder?? The trouble was the boat was Golden Papya, and the Amas and Sail were red, and the battens weren't shipped with it, :D along with a missing drybag.

Also the rudder engages on land, put won't when in the water, I have to manualy engage it.

I also ordered the trampolines, and a dodger but they weren't shipped with the boat, I received the trampoline set on Sep 3, and I'm still waiting the the Dodger.
