This is a TI cart made from a trailer cradle. It has two handle sockets to allow mounting the cart on the back of the trailer by sliding it onto two pieces of 1" pipe. I may make this mounting hardware like a draw bolt that extends out to the cradle and locks in place then can be slid out of the way. The cart will sit across the frame of the trailer on some 3/4" rubber horse stall mat and just be locked in place by the hardware using the same lynch pins and holes used for the cart handle. The resting place of the cradle will be just below the pvc bunks so that it can be easily attached or detached from the boat. The handle sockets are welded to the 1" axle using off the shelf 1" SST washers. This was simpler than fabricating brackets to do the same thing. It's all tig welded stainless steel but could just as well be brazed if you don't have a welding machine. - Chris ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Chris, Where did you buy/fabricate the cradle from? Hobie? $227? Dom |

Dom, it's a Hobie trailer cradle. I would have fabricated the cradle but I didn't have the boat to measure from. - C |

Here is the cart with hardware that holds it on the back of the trailer. The cart sits on rubber pads and is held in place by sst pipe that telescopes into the dual cart handle sockets. The same 1/4" clevis pins that secure the cart handle are used to fix the telescoping sections in their extended position and secure the cart at the handle sockets. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
