Hi, I'm new to the forum, and new to kayaking. I bought a 2013 Revolution and really like it. The issue I have is that my rear end starts hurting after a few hours on the water. I have seen a few cool modifications on this site, but wondering if anyone has found a good seat that just plops in the kayak without hardware or mods. Nope, not without effecting the stability of the craft, which you don't have much to play with in the Revo. All you can do is add extra padding to the bottom of the seat, DIY or pad-I. I use two pad-I's. http://www.austinkayak.com/products/124 ... mfort.html |

I recently added the Hobie iComfort pad (as linked by the poster above)... it's pricey but I do find it is very effective against a sore booty. I go out for many hours at a time and it makes a noticeable difference. It does raise your center of gravity slightly (I kept the original gel pad in) and I noticed the boat feels slightly more tippy but not a big deal. You can install it securely just by using the existing seat's velcro. |

Thanks for the info..... I find it odd that this is sold as an add on, and not standard equipment. Another way to make a buck I suppose. |
