Interested primarily in the AI 2, but I've owned AI 1 (sold) and TI (sold) and now AI 2, and it would be awesome to be able to compare them.. Thanks for any help...

This might be of little help but I was interested in the same. I am 95kg and have been sitting on an AI15 Ama on its own and it doesn't go under completely so I estimate around 120-130kg of buoyancy. |

WTF is an AI15?  My very rough tests showed an AI Mki as about 100kg, and a TI about 150kg of ama buoyancy. So an AI Mkii ama would logically need something in between. |

I live in the future in year 2316 where we have AI version 15 I meant AI 2 (from 2015) Yeah so my 130kg estimate is probably not far off... |

Thanks everyone. I've just gotten curious about this: are the AI 2 amas large enough to use them in a small, one person catamaran? I'm going strap a couple together to try to rig up a simple flotation test of that idea and check it out before it gets too cold here in the northeast. If the combined buoyancy of the AI 2 floats is 525 lbs about (240kg), then by the time I got 200lbs of me, and say 75lbs of lightly built structure and rig, that would leave 250lbs or roughly half the amas out of the water. That might work. Certainly the TI amas would. At maybe 660lbs buoyancy, that leaves them riding pretty high. Aside from like to explore and tinker, I have reasons for looking at this, which I may share after I get my problem with posting pictures solved. |
