Nice if the rear Hobie cradle moves or wobbles when dragging back the kayak to the trailer. Thinking the tension applied to the rear Hobie cradle when it's bolted directly to crossbar is enough to eventually break the cradle. Link below shows what I have in mind where the rollers moves like a seesaw. Does anyone have any opinion about this idea? I currently have Trailex 220 S with front and rear Trailex crossbar with Hobie cradles. I was not seeing any topic with broken cradles due to this so maybe the cradle is built with enough strength to take all these weight stress whenever we drag our kayak in and out the trailer. My trailer looks like this one. It looks like the rear cradle bolted down to the crossbar will get a lot beating whenever we lift up the kayak at the rear cradle. https://www.google.com/search?q=hobie+c ... 6wMruTM%3A |

Nap, I don't think it is a problem at all. Nobody has complained about it, that I know of, for the past few years. Are you aware of any complains about the type of wear you are suggesting? BTW, your link to "My trailer looks like this one," just pulls up a bunch of pictures when I click on it. Keith |

The cradle will never hit... The rear beam and tail lights will hit if you lift too high. |

Thanks Matt, Please do check my setup again. I'll post picture tomorrow. One difference is I have a roller attached on top of the lights. |
