Post subject: | Universal vs Custom Hobie covers |
Just purchased a used 2014 tandem Islander and want to buy a cover for traveling, about 1000 mi each way. Looking at the two covers available they seem to be made of same material but one is "universal ($235.) and the other "custom fit" I believe ($389.). Really just interested in protection and not fancy. Has anyone been able to check these two covers out? Thanks |

It uses tougher material... and custom-fit means a tighter fit... less flapping or chafing damage. Also allows the rudder to stay on. With the universal... you have to disconnect and lay the rudder flat on the aft deck, under the cover. |
