So I have a new to me 2009 AI with the older style twist N stow rudder. Was wounded if I can upgrade to the new style vertical up/down type? I dont think it would work very well because I dont have a full length flat transom mine has the 2" nub that extends off the transom just like my 2012 outback. |

Sorry, no. The transom is not strong enough to handle the newer rudder. |

@kayakkingbob yah that's what I figured. Thanks for the reply, I'm new to the forum and AI but have been fishing on an out back for a few years. Off topic I was looking at you web site are you located in hawaii? |

I was On Maui for 20 years but left just over a year ago back to the mainland for Grandbabies. |
