Nice videos. I wonder what the tide was when you went under the bridges and how much closer it might be at high tide. (I know the tide doesn't change too much in Florida). By the fall, will we be seeing a sprayskirt on the front of your TI? ![]() Great job. Your wife does like climbing all over your boat under sail ![]() Lastly, how do you find furling and especially cleating the furling line from the back seat? On mine, it seems the angle of the line is such that it can't cleat well without being pulled below the aka. |

The tidal range here is about 18 inches or so, and we went under at about mid-tide. Should be good at high tide, too. We may go with a spray skirt later when things cool down. The furling line isn't optimally positioned for use from the rear seat. I need to think about what I want to do with it. |

Yeah, she's been having a blast with that camera. What makes it to YouTube is just a fraction of all the footage she takes. I'd say her talent also extends to editing, otherwise they'd be too big for us to post online... |

Great video. Just came back from a 2 day sail in Florida Bay from Key Largo in my Tandem. I can relate to your awesome sailing conditions. Would like to take photos and video too. But the ride on the Tandem is just too wet for a regular unprotected digital camera. What is your camera setup? A camera salesman recommended the Casio Ex-G1 "Endurance" Digital Camera. It is a 12 Megapixel, shock resistant and waterproof. Thoughts? |

Thanks for a another great video, keep 'em coming. They take me to relaxing peaceful place while I am stuck behind my computer desk all day at work, dreaming that I was out on a TI on a great body of water somewhere..... Okay, back to work! |

My wife is using a Sony TX-5; she picked it out after reviewing everything she wanted online. So far it's been a great little camera, though the finish started coming off the front slider yesterday; we don't know if it's the saltwater or the sunscreen that's doing the finish in. Other cameras I've looked at for family members that are waterproof include: Fujifilm FinePix XP10 and the Panasonic DMC-TS1, both of which appear to be receiving good user reviews. The website I use from my initial detective work for cameras is DPReview (http://www.dpreview.com/), then before purchasing I try to find user reviews for the specific model I'm interested in on Amazon.com. |

Thanx, Mitch. Your Sony TX-5 has many advantages over the Canon. Image stabilization is a must on these boats. And the video on the TX-5 is of much higher resolution too. Placed my order for the Sony today. Let us know if you return to the Keys and would appreciate company for some fun races through the Keys and bridges with our Tandems. |
