I know that Small Pox camp ground can be busy. But there might be a way to launch and store a car there. Small Pox offers great access to Henry island. The last time that I kayaked near Henry Island, the morning water off of a point we pretty turbid. I was never sure if that was due to boat traffic or current flowing back into the sound after low tide. I am sure that the amount of turbidity isn't enough to effect a tandem. But what happens if water flows over the top of an outrigger? Oh and if you are sailing out of Friday, You might consider asking if you can just walk on with your kayak. The walk on ramp is a bit of a pain for such activity. But if you could get access to the car ramp, boats are typically stored right next to the ramp. You could make a walk on and walk off work. |

I am guessing that you are new to sailing (apologies if I got that wrong).. If you are finding one outrigger (ama) is going under water, you should roll up (furl) enough sail until there is usually a few inches of ama above water. This will increase your speed (and fun!). Hope this helps. |

Very new. I had been talking to a local guy who wants to sell his Hobiecat 16. He warned me about dipping one of the pontoons under the surface. I was wandering if that carried over to sailing kayaks. |

On my TI the only thing that happens if the ama is submerged is that it slows you down. You transfer weight to the ama that's out of the water the rebalance and speed picks back up. |
