Dear all,
this is my first video taken by an action camera, and it is also my first attempt to edit one  .
So maybe it is not professional style and maybe it will be a little bit boring to watch, but I want to share it with you anyhow, hoping you can enjoy it.

Any comment and suggestion is welcome :D

Nice video Biagio, and lovely sunshine, although that temperature is a bit too chilly for me!

Just a couple of things.
What is the thin line coming from the top of the mast?
What is that white thing on your starboard haka?
And lastly, can you please describe your remote steering set-up?

Thanks

Dear Tony,
nice to hear that you liked my video.

My answers:

What is that white thing on your starboard haka?
It is an homemade side planer used for trolling fishing. I used to connect several lures to the main line. At the end of the video you can see how it runs on the water. Unfortunately the camera stopped recording at that point and I couldn't show more. Maybe next time I will show some catchs and I will try to show how it works better.

What is the thin line coming from the top of the mast?
I use it in combination with the side planer, in order to keep the main line out of the water. Anyway I am going to not use it anymore because sometimes it conflicts with the sail. Next time I will try a different way to keep the main line out of the water, stay tuned.

And lastly, can you please describe your remote steering set-up?
It is too complicated for me to explain how it works, but maybe the following video is much better than any word:

Let me know if it is easy to understand.

Bye

Biagio

Thanks!
That steering set up is not unlike my emergency steering, except that I lead each line to cleats next to my seat (Actually, I have the starboard one connected to a bungee with a 2 to 1 leverage, so I cleat that off and steer just by applying pressure on the port side one.

I tried to use a bungee in port side too, but I didn't like that because I couldn't use the normal steering.
The advantage of my setup is that you can use both the handle and the line to steer, and from every position you stay.
Maybe you noticed also the wooden backrest, it can also be used as a raised seat, and the remote steering can be used from this position as well..

The setup shown in the video is the initial one, the current one is a little bit different and works very well.
In the next days I will try to do some additional video to better explain how it works.

Bye

My lines are there for emergency only, so I leave them slack unless needed.

That answers my question about whether the akas/mast can take hiking out.

Thanks.
