Post subject:  AI's in San Diego

Hello everyone,
My name is Roderick and it's been awhile sense i've been on the forum. I have always lusted after a TI but never made the leap yet. Still making due with a shared Odessy TI. Please help me here. I see on the forum and youtube all of the great places to go around the world. My question is,

Why is it I never see anyone out along the coast in San Diego ?

My concept of it's use would be to take it along the coast of California and Baja to look for surf but I haven't found info much to support this. There was one trip video a few years back by FastLane sailing about their trip to Catalina but nothing else.

PS Just go back from another amazing trip to the Channel Islands. The water was 73 ! Snorkling was great. I was wishing I had a ATI the whole time.

Thanks in advance

I live in LA, but, I go to San Diego a lot, especially to watch the chargers. I launched my TI in La Jolla, at the end of Avenue de la Playa over Thanksgiving weekend.. It is easy to launch there, you can drive right on the sand and launch your kayak. Not much wind, but, we had a great time exploring the caves. It was a cold day... As we were leaving, there was another dune TI launching for late afternoon fishing... The Hobies are made right there in Oceanside, so, I imagine on a windy day, you will see a few in La Jolla for sure..

At Channel Island Harbor, launching at Kiddie beach, and making the 3.5 mile trek out to offshore rig Gina is also cool...
