Hello everyone! My husband and I are up for a sailing AI adventure! We each have our own single seater AI and are beginning to research sailing / kayaking a shorter segment in Mexico's Baja CA peninsula; perhaps in the 7-14 day range. We live in CA and were thinking of driving down with our boats and joinining up with an organized sea-kayaking tour group (connecting beforehand, of course, and if in fact they will allow us to join them for a fee). We were thinking this might be the best way to ensure safety, fun, and a truly great experience due to a tour company's vast local knowledge. Just brainstorming here on how to meet all our goals of having a great AI adventure in Baja (versus just a sea-kayak experience because we LOVE our AIs) and staying safe! Has anyone done this before and open to sharing some insight and logistics? And / or, does anyone have Baja tour group recommendations? There's always Google, but anyone have direct experience with any of tour companies in Baja? Thanks so much in advance! Warmly, Stephanie 2012 AI - "Holoholo" |

Couple of us took AIS down to Loreto a few years back. It was mostly a fishing trip, but we sailed a lot. We hooked up with a panga guy that did some mothership trips for us. It looks like you could do Loreto to LA Paz if you arranged support. Another possibility is to circumnavigate the island there in loreto. Panga arrange for camping, and permits. We were there in early July, was super hot inland, but real nice on the water with very predictable winds. |
