The Plan! Meet at Katherine's Landing, or Willow Beach, in Arizona. Launch ramp to be decided Friday, May 27, to take advantage of a 50 mile down wind run. Option 1 take out after completing 50 miles. Option 2 return back to starting point for a total of 100 miles. This is for experienced sailors or paddler's only You must be totally self-sufficient. Plan on spending 3 to 4 days on the water if you are going for 100 miles. Plan your own support crew for possible alt. take outs ( Cottonwood Cove, Stewarts Point, Willow Beach ) You should at least have a VHF radio, and a satellite system such as Spot, and Delorme in reach. Safety should be your priority. Please review watertribe.com for suggested equipment, and what to expect on this kind of challenge. Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions, comments, or concerns. If you would like to be added to our list, please go to meetup Las Vegas Hobie Island owners. Or contact me at [email protected] Dennis Fields |

I cant do that as Im not in the area but I was happy to see your Las Vegas meetup site. Im in Lake Havasu from about October through April and there are a few active TI folks down there. I saw that you guys came down to the balloon festival last winter and weve gone up to Willow beach. My wife and I may try and join one of your lower Colorado river outings next fall/winter/spring. |
