I bought an older AI ('09) recently and most of the paint on the akas and crossbars is long gone. I found one thread on these forums with folks talking about painting the akas, but everything they said sounded experimental and untested.

Can anyone suggest the right type of paint for this purpose (from experience)? Please keep in mind that my akas and crossbars appear to be aluminum (I just thought I would mention this in the case that the materials are different on the newer models).

Thanks,

Daniel

I would think rustoleum or any paint designed for metal would be sufficient. You might consider a couple of coats of primer first.

I've used just decent quality black spray-paint
