we've not heard of any changes in the products. If there is any no one will know until Mid August, or maybe late July I think "OR" is early this year. If your wanting a boat you may want to go ahead and get to to avoid any Price increases in 2010 boats.

No problems,,not interested in buying the 2010 as my 2009 goes well,,,i just talk to interested parties around the traps so the info would be handy for folks,,it seems to me Hobie are pretty happy where they are at with the hull,,so if you have a good product you don't really need to make any big changes,,

I heard that they have started making the 2010 or at least have everything (moulds etc)ready to go,,thats why i thought now would be a good time to ask.

Good tip on buying a 2009 before the price increase,,something folks might might not have considered.

but the revo doesent have aka's or a dagger board. Doubt the AI sail will do anything but capsize the revo in 8mph winds. The AI is the most versitile kayak in the hobie fleet. just needs a stronger bow section and it would rule all. I am waiting on the 2010 model before i make my first AI purchase

No worrys,,i have never heard of anybody wanting a stronger bow before,

I just have the Adventure without the amas and sail at the moment so i have no sailing experience,,looking forward to getting into it very soon though, good luck with your 2010 when they hit the streets.

I've got one of Kayaking Bob's sprayshields and I have to agree with him that it makes quite a difference to the AI's tendency to bury the bow in waves.

Hmmm, I best be having a closer look at these...

While the tramps stop a fair bit there's still that water that pops straight over the box and lands in your lap. Only going to get colder around here over the next few months..

I can confirm that there are no changes to the 2010 AI in regards to hull, crossbars or rig. We somtimes tweak accessories, so that will be about it. New model changes become effective September 1st.

Thanks for that,,seems like Hobbies happy with the Adventure ,,so why change a good thing ?

Funny i was watching a show the other day showing the strenght of concrete,,as it is not very strong but with mesh inside its virtually unbreakable,, i wonder if thats a way of the future,,molding with mesh inside on any percieved weak areas for maximun strenght.

ZO-SIX ,theres no changes so i would buy now at a cheaper price and have months more fun on the water more than you would had by waiting. :D

Shorty, I think mesh reinforcing would be rather difficult to achieve in the roto-moulding process. But in some ways, what you are talking about does happen with some laminate style materials, but these aren't roto-moulded.

Josh,,yeah thats probally correct,,just a thought,,

Matt,,theres been a lot of complaints over the last few moths on the Australian forums that we can't get the Ivory Dune colour as standard for AI's.

Will you be looking after the Aussies for 2010 and making it standard ? cheers,,,

My reply above... no significant changes. I expect a few minor changes, but nothing that should need to be upgraded. In my opinion... not worth missing 3-4 months of sailing waiting for a 2010 model year.

On the Dune color... it is available as a kit, but I don't think sales is planning to offer as a standard option.
