Post subject:  my story of me and the adventure island how it happend

I have always had a love of the water and sailing but never even took a sideways glance at a kayak let alone a hobie or even know what one was till oneday while on holidays we went to have coffie in a small town just up the road from were we were staying and wile walking around town having a look we walked into a outdoor adventure store the first thing i noticed was he only sold kayaks and canoes i was looking at a hobie outback and was thinking how well they were made and still i had no other interest in them till i went inside and up on the wall was a fully assembeld hobie adventure island . well this was fantastic i stood there in ore and said to myself got to have one of these and thats only the start . Now i had to convince the wife AND OVER THE NEXT TWO MONTHS of talking about it and watching them on u tube we took one out for a test drive with the kids and i got the green light to get one for x mas but to my suprise while i was out with the kids doing a test sail the wife told the sails guy i wont a red one so u better make it two then and i did not find this out till that night when see could not stop talking about it and then said to me how are we going to transport 2 of them . the. after picking my self of the floor i said we will get a trailer made and this was the hard bit i must of rang every trailer builder in the southeast qld from brisbane to gympie any way the average price was around $3500 to $4000 there was no way as this was to deer for me. so i was going to make my own untill i came across a local bloke in noosa his name was mark from rippen trailers noosa . icarnt say enought good things about him not only did he sit down and listen to what i wanted but his idears were exelent to say the least .After finalised the trailer i gave him the go ahead to build it . and to get it hot dipped galvanised the trailer was ready to pick up wow what a grate trailer he has made with folding draw bar and mast slots the lot so icould talk about it all day but ill let the pic,s do the talking . so thanks to mark and his team from rippen trailers and mal and staff from sunstat hobie for all the help. if any one wonts rippen trailers number pm meImageImageImageImageImageImage

Great looking trailer. When I purchased our Hobies 3 years ago, we car toped them for one week and then purchased a Rack & Roll trailer. In my book a trailer is the only way to go. If its a hassle to get them to the water, you won't use them as often as you wanted to. I don't have a AI but envy those that do. With the new tandem coming in the spring I will be looking closely at them.
Enjoy your kayaks and the trailer. You did good!

Great setup mate, you've done well. Just wanted to know about the profiled cradles. Do they support the main hull and the amas's and where do you get them ?

hi there the cradels r grate they do seem to support the hull very well but im a bit worried about hull distortion if i leave them on the cradels over night but from what i read that is not a problem . i got them from sunstate hobie in cooroy ask for mal grate service. heading out tomorro for our first trip see how we go .
