Anybody lay awake at night trying to think how to rig an AI with skates to take out on the ice? Steering would be the big issue plus not sure the amas could stand land-loads. But still.......

Go for it! Even if it wasn't a racer it would be wonderful to be able take the AI out on frozen lakes (which in my area are all over the place right now). Perhaps it would be possible to strap the AI into a frame and rig a tiller on the stern to control a turning skate. If the contraption broke through the ice, you could just sail away!

Of course to be a true AI ice boat one would need to find a way to adapt the mirage drive with little skates on the fins able to thrust with a skating motion.

deacm,
My Dad grew up in Wisconsin, right on a lake and used to tell stories of when he was a young boy, he and his brothers used to take their sleds out on the lake and rig up sails and just take off with the wind.
If you have a lot of kids in your neighborhood, ask to borrow a few sleds. Tie one to each ama, and two or more to the AI body. Open the sail and take off flying .....no steering needed
