Post subject:  Snowed out...

Was going to do Ashurst Lake today, but got up on "the rim" above Sedona and saw all the snow, so I decided to head over to Williams, AZ and try Kiabab Lake. While the campground there is closed for over-nights, the lake is open for day use. Unfortunately, the lake was frozen and the road snowed over so badly, I didn't want to try it!

Should have gone south to Prescott and tried Willow Lake near Watson Lake, but had done that a few weeks ago and wanted to try something different.

I was able to do the Lower Salt river in the Revo last weekend and had a blast w/that! To be able to kayak at all in Feb/Mar is pretty good and I can't complain about the weather we've been having here in AZ lately! The doors and windows are open here now, but we're about 1200' lower than the Mogollon Rim and it's beautiful!

Still planning to do the Colorado River from Hoover Dam to Willow Beach Apr 1st through the 4th, I KNOW that will be nice... 8)

Sedona

I'm leaving for Rocky Point in the morning through next weekend, will be going off the beach at The Reef !! :D

Looks like there will be an offshore wind the next 5 days.

Hi Bob,

South is good, I hope you had a GREAT time! The weather was good?
Try this one... El Dorado Golf Course on the Scottsdale greenbelt, just south of Thomas Rd:

Kayaking a golf course in AZ is fleeting at best! 8) Some of that was the snow melt!

Then there's this: http://www.dcourier.com/main.asp?Sectio ... leID=78967

Let me know if you ever want to 'yak Tempe Town Lake, it's only a couple of miles from "the bat cave", and when the wind is up... :D
