Post subject:  Daggerboard fitment
I have the new style daggerboard. Quite a bit of slop in it. I have been using a short length of 1/4" vacuum hose to cut down on the sideways play a bit. Just curious how others are solving this.

Same issue here with the older grey model, but not advice to offer.

Only that the dagger needs to be able to sweep back against the hull in case of an impact, or to adjust trim.

Any solutions should keep that in mind.

Are you routing the bungee through the D ring and then around the pin? If not, that will create extra play in system.

Yes. That doesn't affect side-to-side play much.

Once you're on course it isn't much of an issue. But if you want a snugger fit, maybe a couple of turns of plastic duct tape would do. If you need more, slip a thin plastic scrap over the DB (for bulk) and tape over it in the pivot area. The added friction will allow you to set the angle of the board as well. 8)

Yes! A wrap of wide waterproof tape with a little thin foam sheet under it would do wonders and still "give" when you wanted it too.

I had been thinking about a little surgical tubing being used in the well, at the point where the DB pivots. Likewise, you can add small pieces of tubing to the 2 contact points of your mirage drive to cushion the hull from stress damage.
