I got a small bottle of this stuff with my new TI. What is it? When would I use it? how much would I use it and on what? |

Whenever it gets sunburnt? Oh, I forgot, you have one of those slow red TIs, so you won't be able to see the sunburn. ![]() |

It's OK, there's not enough sunshine down that way to need it. |

I'd chuckle at that, except we have had very little sunshine up here for some time either. I'm suffering from withdrawal symptoms. ![]() |

Quote: I got a small bottle of this stuff with my new TI. What is it? It's UV protectant spray. it is designed to help minimize fading from excessive UV exposure Quote: When would I use it? After you've hosed the yak down and think to yourself 'hrmm... been quite some time since I gave my yak some TLC.' Quote: how much would I use it and on what? Hehe... if you can make that little bottle do a whole TI, you should be compared to Jesus Christ feeding 1000 people with a fish and 2 loafs of bread. Don't expect that bottle to go terribly far - its a single serving thing really. Obviously, you want to use this stuff to wipe down the hull. I also find it pretty handy for wiping down hatch seals. Its good stuff. Hobie sell larger bottles of it. Most dealers will stock it. |

The supplied UV protectant is much better tha 303. 303 is like Armour all and is simply a coating that washes off. The Hobie protectant is a product by McNett "UV Tech" and is shown to be rejuvenating to plastics and vinyl by absorbing into the material. One your sample runs out... see your Hobie dealer. It's shown in the catalog. |

Matt, Maybe for us newbie’s to Hobie kayaks you could add to the welcome pack a what this is and when and how to use it section. Also maybe a maintenance/cleaning regime for the new boat? |

Sounds like "UV Tech" would also be good stuff to use to help maintain your sail. cliffs2yak |

great point; would love to know it that would be an advantage! Would defiantly keep up the treatment for the sail if it extended its life! |
