I've search both the Hobie website and this forum but I can't find a definitive information on what material is the sail from the TI is made out of? I'm getting insurance for my TI, and my insurance company needs to know the specific material of the sail. I've read from this forum that the sail seems to have a combination of Mylar and Dacron materials....can someone confirm? And which is which? Thanks in advance. |

I'm sure someone will be along shortly who knows what they are talking about, but i would imagine the clear portion is mylar, and the opaque, white and colored portion is dacron. mylar is a smooth plastic, typically, while dacron is a synthetic fabric. |

Yep, my understanding is Mylar window/Dacron sheeting. Insurance Hammer, getting it or needing it? Hope it is the first one mate ![]() |
