My wife and I have just returned from our annual pilgrimage to Dunns Swamp. Believe it or not, this is a man made waterway about 4 hours west of Newcastle NSW. Looks like sometimes man can stuff around with nature and get it right. Although I was only in Adventure mode, I'm posting it here because I don't know anyone on the kayak site. Hope you enjoy it. Mate, I didn't know they had waterways like that on Lord Howe Island. How did you go with the Hammock? Did you share it with the missus or make her sleep on the ground? |

West, East, I was wondering if anyone would pick that up ![]() Loved the hammock. Woke up without an ache which I don't even do when sleeping in my own bed. I must admit, it did take an hour or so to get the hang of it and I found that probably because it is more difficult to turn over in your sleep, you don't. When I saw a possum jump on the tree I thought I was in for some fun and games. Don't know if possums can tightrope walk ? |

Nice work Slaughter I really enjoyed it - I'll have to take a look at Dunns myself. The hammock looked the goods and I believe opossums are expert tightrope walkers. |

I've got a possum that performs amazing acrobatic feats, walking along wire netting to pinch my tomatoes. We've reached an understanding - I leave a ripe tomato out for him each night and he leaves the others alone. Sort of like paying protection to the local branch of the Mafia. |

Gee thanks fellas. I can now see a big downfall with the hammock. Unless they have nicely manicured nails I can see one racing across the ridge and opening it up like a packet of chips. Perhaps if I pay protection tomatoes to your Mafia mobster and take him away on trips ! |

You could take the amas/akas/pvc pipes next time and sleep out in the middle of the lake. That oughta slow the little buggers down. |

Bahhh ... I dont for a minute believe that is you in the video Where's the gear ? Where's the shark encounter ? Where's the whale bumping ?!?!? ... no rod and reel - not even a Popeil Pocket Fisherman ?!?! This must be your subdued stunt double whilst the real Slaughter was out manhandling a 30' GiNormous Octopus ... and Yes, Possums can definately tightrope walk. |

Dunns swamp looks really beautiful, we drove from brisbane on a two week trip trip into nsw, went tamworth for a few days then, the Chaffey dam, then Glen bawn,Myall lakes, Nambucca and home we were hoping to get to Dunns Swamp, but with only two weeks off we just ran out of time, We will have to make Dunns swamp our main goal for next jan. Was really impressed with the Myall lake {Mungo Brush} and all up probably did over 100klm in the TI.{found a few more faults with the Island} Ainut |

Magic, must put that on my to-do list. Is it easy to launch there? Don't have to lower the yak down a cliff or anything? |

Passwind - Even SuperHero's need a break every now and again. I found a couple of crocs to have a bit of a wrestle with but it was only practise so I didn't bother filming. ![]() Ainut and CGM - You won't regret going out there. Launch sites are easy as. They also rent out kayaks and canoes so we only took 1 and hired another. Pick your times to go though. Go weekdays and out of school hols otherwise you may not get in, or if you do you may not enjoy it. Chris - Hammock on the AI on the swamp would be the way to go. How good would that be. My bucket list is more like a 44 gallon drum list now, ( right next to Terrigal to Maitland Bay ![]() |

Beautiful travelogue - looks like a great trip! Very enjoyable to watch and listen to the music. I especially liked your approach to jumping from one scene to another in the photo album. Some of those distance shots must have involved quite a hike. It almost feels like I've been there now, and from this distance that's about as good as it gets! Thanks for sharing. ![]() |

Thanks RR. I'm glad I didn't spend about 15 hours trying to match the music to the scene changes for it to then go unnoticed. I'm doing a few courses to get the hang of this new software and so far I think the results are gradually improving and editing is not so time consuming. Glad you liked it. P.S. I really don't mind critisism, really. If anyone can see areas for improvement please let me know. |

It should be longer Slaughter!... ![]() ![]() I myself use iMovie quite a bit and find it extremely versatile and easy to use. The only other criticism is the name of the waterway. Whoever dreamed that one up should be dragged behind an AI for a couple of ks....Pirate ![]() |

At first, I thought the same thing about the name Pirate but in fact, when you think about it, the bloke should get a medal. If they called it ‘Paradise Oasis’ think how many people would turn up. Before you know it you would have to pay $20 to hire a deck chair down by the water’s edge where, for a further $20, you could order a Pina Colarda in a coconut with a tiny umbrella served by a small Spanish man called Manwell. There would be no need to take a tent cause all the camp sites had to make way for multi storey hotel complexes where for a mere $300 you can have a tiny room facing the multi storey carpark. All the river view mega rooms have been pre booked by rock stars who are never there, and rich fat Germans with big cigars who walk around in shorts and long white socks. ......but I digress. By the way did you get to Narooma. Wern't you going off on a trip there. Montague Island is another trip in my 44 gallon drum list. When do you want to go Pirate ? |
