Me and my dog, Roxy, were at the ribbon cutting ceremony (at Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara, CA) in which kayaks and canoes were allowed for the very first time on the lake. There was a bunch of various kayaks and canoes there but it seemed like my Adventure Island caught the eye of the news crews. I think that my dog who sails with me on the AI also got their attention too. I gave several interviews and the link above was one of them. Click on the video in the link to see the story.

I circled the entire lake that day to be the first person to do it. The winds kicked up as they always do but my AI handled it perfectly and safely. With waves crashing over the bow as we tacked upwind against the large swells, Roxy sat there calmly and let her ears flap in the wind. It was a great day. Thanks Hobie!

Here is a short film I created a while back showing Roxy enjoying her AI sailing adventures.

Love the last video "Sailing with Roxy", what a wonderful way to share time with a great best friend.

Thanks for posting this.

I've always wanted to go kayaking on that lake. Now it's finally open.

To my surprise, there has been much more kayaking going on at Cachuma Lake than I thought there would be. I spent about 4 hours on the lake today exploring some quiet coves. It really is a magical lake with some very peaceful spots. Of course, the wind picks up nicely in the afternoon giving a thrilling ride for the adventurous. The best of both worlds!
