The TI's trampoline is often preventing the steering handle from turning left.

The above image doesn't show the problem, because in this photo, the trampoline is behaving well and is sitting below the steering handle. But often, the trampoline will "float" above the handle and then block it from turning left.

When steering in the front seat, this is not a problem. We can push the tramp material to the side. But when steering from the back seat, it is a problem as the boat cannot turn left.

Has anyone figured out a solution to this problem?

I have been setting mine up a little farther outboard. It all depends on where you set up the inner most buckle on the tramp.

Hi Tiki.

The tramps came with an instruction sheet from Hobie. In these instructions, it says:

Quote:
Moving back you'll find webbing straps, begin connecting them at the inside near the hull where you'll connect the first inside strap to the crossbar and not the AKA itself. Tighten each strap and go sailing.

If we follow the instructions and connect the first inside strap to the crossbar, then we cannot move the tramp farther outboard to clear the steering handle.

Are you connecting the innermost strap to the aka and not the crossbar? If yes, have you experienced any issues with this setup?

I believe those instructions are for the older pin connection not the new slide in & snap connection. I also place mine on the aka not the crossbar and have not had any trouble at all.

Good Luck..... :)

just forward of the tiller there is an eyelet on the trampoline, and below the tramp is the carry handle, I just tied a piece of cord to the handle, when you assemble the tramp you just tie it to the handle.
That works just fine

Well shoot, its been so long since I have been out on the water but, I think what I have been doing is concentrating on the location of the second strap. Getting it as far outboard and down the extra meat of the casting if memory serves, then letting the inner one go where it wants from there. I have had no problens with this but my cargo is a 65 lb boy on that side and we are just fair weather folks.
