Hello! Just wondering about the plugs that are located in the seat area in TI - are they meant to be open when you´re sailing? - and so drain the cockpit are from the water that splashes in, of course most of the water disappears through the mirage drive well, but on the seat area there seems to be a tendency for pooling of water under your butt. But if they are meant to be open when sailing - when should they be closed? Kind regards from Finland! ![]() Uploaded with ImageShack.us |

Hi Finland! I take the plugs out the day I get the boat, and they never go back in. The holes are there to drain the seat area. If you never get water in the seat area (because you only use the boat on flatwater lakes/rivers), then you might leave the plugs in, otherwise, in my opinion, they have no use. Keith |

Open most of the time. In winter paddling down the river maybe I close them but when sailing open seems to work best. |

if you ever have to sleep under your boat they would keep the rain out... |

I keep mine in if I plan to stay dry, which would mean I'm staying up in the creeks and rivers where there are no waves. Happens a lot in the winter. Now that the water is warm, I go out and sail where the wind is better and get wet. |

Check out 'HALLIBU77' on utube. He's made a solution to self bail the seat area. Basically a plumbing T piece with a tube sticking through the said holes with a slash / flute cut in it drawing the water out. |
