Just to note that after a season and a half with the evolve, which I was skeptical about (not liking the mounting options), we really like it. It increases time on the water by making it possible to sail on a day with a dying wind without worrying about going out to the interesting water and getting stranded. It also makes it possible to get back upstream to dock against the Hudson's strong tides. The motor is sturdy and quiet. It would be great if the display had better legibility and if the motor had twice the range (but it is possible to bring a second battery). We carry the motor on a tramp every time we go out and drop it into the drive well when needed, swapping out the mirage drive.

Timo

I like mine also (when it works) as when you had had a long day peddling into the wind in the marina gets to you a bit.

Problem was from new mine was faulty and they had to replace the cable (no big issue these things happen and my dealer fixed it up straight away)

Now something else does not work (6 months later) and the local Toqueedo agent it seems is useless. 4 weeks and NO response to my Hobie dealer!!!! Not happy about this situation.

Having said that, it is nice and gives the Hobie something a sail and peddle cant give...reverse!
