The latest episode of Yakass Coastal kayak Fishing Show is live and in it I run the viewer over my AI and it's various mods, perhaps of most interest here the Skipper seat experiment. Also demonstrates my custom made skirts, double bungee mod, bullhorn rod holder system and a bunch of other stuff, including how to cook a roast dinner on the back of a kayak. Plenty of fishing action as always to.

Josh

As always, you never fail to amaze and entertain (and of course teach by your creative Vid work and symbiosis)
The seat is a proven winner for a number of Yachties that spend way too many hours in a fixed position. I really hope it works out for you as it has a number of pros and cons.
The angle of the original seat seems almost a dead ringer for a Recumbent bike's seat (ergo the lumbar support on the 11's)
That arrangement has been a lifesaviour for ppl with 2 slipped disks in their lower back.
Very many wishes that your present arrangement will also suit you further down the road.

Best Regards
Fred

Great stuff again Josh. Filled in my work lunchtime, really enjoyed it. The footage, camera angles and editing was spot on. Love the cobb cooker !!

Wow, great stuff! Where can I pick up that seat?

Kev, in Australia the Skipper seat is pretty easy to get a hold of - any chandlery would be able to access them, and they're not overly expensive. I imagine they'd be easy to find in the states.

I have since come up with a more secure way to mount it in position. I haven't changed the turnbuckle system at the back of it (that works great) but I have changed the fast-release buckle system for a cord & cleat system, which holds the seat in position better. I'll update this post with some photos of that when I get a chance.

Glad y'all enjoyed the video. The next one will go into more detail on kit - safety, nav, 1st aid, rods, reels and my favourite lures (and why). That and of course whatever worthy fishing action I shoot in between now and then :-)
