Is there any standard way you guys are mounting your Ram balls? What hardware? I saw in the Hobie catalog some well fasteners that are supposed to seal the hole, but I don't see anyone ever mentioning using them or even know where to get them. Is everyone just using SS nuts bolts and washers? I saw a mention of Goop once, would that be the marine version? Would you use it just in the holes, or would you slather it all over mating surfaces?

I use SS hardware and Silicon Adhesive to seal all holes.

Are you always be able to reach the underside to attach bolts and washers, or do you use some kind of screw that seals itself into the hole?

So far, I've been able to reach.

An old trick, if it's out of reach, drill the hole just a little bit larger, and fish some light fishing line into the hole and tie it to near the end of the bolt. Be sure to have the washer (oversized?) with a bit of Silicon Adhesive on it and pull the bolt from the inside to out (backward!). A wrench or long pliers can usually hold the bolt inside as you tighten.
