I have a 2007 AI. I asked my dealer to get me the new replacement rudder. When he got it some of the hokes did not line up when he tried to install it for me. He says that Hobie is not going to provide a replacement rudder for the 2007 boats. Can this be right? |

There is only 1 rudder blade available for that vintage AI Part # 81397001 There shouldn't be any problems mounting it - its never changed. Post a picture? - perhaps the dealer is confused. |

Jim, Replacing the rudder blade should be no problem as JBernier says. If you are asking for the "new" replacement rudder (vertical rudder), that rudder/housing cannot be used with 2010 and earlier boats. The transom was re-designed with the AI 2011, and the vertical rudder fits that design. Earlier models are out of luck unfortunately.
